The Transit Certificate Program at the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies (SLU) is a collaborative initiative with the Transport Workers Union (TWU) Local 100 and the New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) Training and Upgrading Fund. Through this program, SLU offers two specialized courses—Development of Mass Transit in NYC and Worker Health and Safety—designed to enhance transit workers’ industry knowledge and support their professional growth. These courses are fully funded by the TWU Education Fund, allowing eligible TWU members to participate at no cost.
Tuition Payment Certification |
TWU members should meet with SLU’s Academic Program Specialist for TWU to ensure they continue to meet eligibility requirements to participate at no-cost. This also ensures that your participation is properly recorded in our systems as “Paid by TWU” for your semester of enrollment.
If you have received a tuition bill, it may indicate that either:
- You are not eligible to participate at no-cost, or
- Your account has not been recorded as “Paid by TWU”
To resolve this, please contact your Academic Program Specialist as soon as possible.
For additional questions regarding your student account, you may also reach out to Bursar Operations.
