Who Should Apply for Readmission?
SLU students enrolled in a degree or certificate program who did not graduate and have been out of school for two (2) or more consecutive semesters (excluding summer).
Students who earned a certificate or degree from CUNY SLU and are interested in pursuing a new program should not complete this form but should file an application for the program they wish to complete. Non-degree students are ineligible for readmission.
Prior to Readmission:
Before applying, make sure you are in good academic and financial standing.

How to Apply for Readmission:
- Submit the Readmission Application
- Graduate Readmission: Please note the graduate department retains the right to request additional information from you as part of this readmission process. If applicable, you will need to consult your graduate advisor regarding academic planning and class registration.
- Send Transcripts (If Applicable)
- If you attended another college after leaving SLU, request the official transcripts from all attended institutions to be sent directly to SLU.
- Verify NYS Residency
- To qualify for in-state tuition, please review the NYS Residency Requirements
- Upon readmission, returning students will be asked to provide the completed Residency Form (parts A & C) with two (2) valid documents showing NYS residency for the last twelve (12) or more months.
- Example: Copies of a utility bill (Current month in 2026 and corresponding month in 2025) and scanned copy of NYS license (issue date must be at least one year prior to start of classes)
- Failure to provide NYS residency prior to the start of the term will result in out-of-state tuition billing.
What Happens Next:
Upon review of your application and supporting documents, a readmission decision will be rendered and sent to you via email.
If you have attended any other institution after you left the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies, send an official transcript from each school attended to:
