DC 37 Labor Leaders Partnership

The CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies, in partnership with District Council 37’s Education Fund, offers academic programs for DC 37 members interested in expanding their knowledge of the labor movement, labor relations, and unionism. The Education Fund covers the cost of tuition and non-instructional fees for one graduate course (up to 3 credits) or one undergraduate course (up to 4 credits) per semester. The fund will cover a maximum of four courses per eligible academic program.

Eligible Academic Programs:

  • Certificate in Labor Relations
  • BA in Labor Studies
  • Advanced Certificate in Labor Relations
  • MA in Labor Studies

New DC 37 LLP Participants

  1. Submit DC 37 Education Fund Benefits Application: Prior to applying to CUNY SLU, you must first complete the DC 37 Education Fund Benefits Application for your chosen/preferred certificate or degree program. See: DC 37 Eligibility Requirements Chart
  2. Attend CUNY SLU/Education Fund information session: Follow-up information will be disseminated to eligible applicants along with an invitation to an information session – attendance is mandatory for entry into the program.
  3. Apply to CUNY SLU: Once you have attended the information session, go ahead and apply to CUNY SLU.

Continuing DC 37 LLP Participants

Once enrolled in an approved DC 37 LLP Program, you must continue to meet the minimum eligibility requirements for the DC 37 Education Fund to maintain tuition coverage.
