Syllabus Language

See below for language about the Learning Hub you can use in your syllabus.

Seeking support for writing and other academic work is strongly correlated with successful completion of academic programs. At the SLU Learning Hub, professional writing advisors, a librarian, a Digital Portfolios Specialist, and a Quantitative Reasoning specialist are available to work with students at any stage of their work, at any point in the semester.

You can create a Learning Hub account here by clicking “register for an account.”

We offer several options for remote and in-person appointments, all of which are detailed here.

Information about writing workshops can be found here.

Request a Class Visit

A writing advisor will visit your classroom to introduce students to the Learning Hub’s resources, show students how to access our services and answer any questions.

Require a Learning Hub Appointment

Requiring students to visit the Learning Hub as part of an assignment is a great way to help students connect with our advisors. Most students who make an initial appointment follow up to make additional appointments. Feel free to reach out to Michael Rymer to discuss.

Request an In-Class Workshop

A staff member will facilitate one of the Learning Hub’s workshops in your class. Workshops range from 30-75 minutes. We are happy to adapt our workshops to your needs or collaborate to develop a workshop tailored to a particular assignment.
