Students and faculty at the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies are served by the Mina Rees Library at The Graduate Center. The Graduate Center Library provides students with an easy, quick way of accessing computer-based library materials through its internet-based resources. These include electronic research databases and an E-Reserve system where professors can post class related content.

In addition to the Graduate Center Library, students of the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies with a valid CUNY SLU ID have access to the 20 libraries of The City University of New York system. To enter any of the libraries, including the Graduate Center Library, students must present their SLU ID Card along with a valid picture ID.

Accessing Electronic Resources

SLU students and faculty have full access to Graduate Center Library resources available on the main library website at library.gc.cuny.edu.

Your GC Network credentials are used to log into all library resources. Contact SLU IT to set up these accounts. You may log in remotely to Graduate Center Library databases, journals, ebooks, and our full suite of online resources.

  • For login questions, forgotten passwords, password reset, or security problems, contact the SLU IT Help Desk ITHelpDesk@slu.cuny.edu or call 212-642-2084 from 9am to 9pm Monday through Thursday, 9am to 6pm Fridays.
  • These credentials extend access to all Graduate Center Library Databases, to the full set of GC Library journals, and to Graduate Center Interlibrary Loan services.
  • Additionally, use your GC network credentials on site to login to Graduate Center Library computers and to print at no additional charge.

About Online Resources and Services

 The Graduate Center’s Mina Rees Library is open online and ready to meet the research and teaching needs of our students and faculty. The library provides access to many library resources and services through the library website.

All library databases, e-journals, and e-books are available remotely. Interlibrary loan is available for journal articles and book chapters.

Robust reference assistance is available by email and 24/7 chat via the library website, and subject librarians are available for phone or video research consultations. Additionally, the library will be offering online workshops on Zotero, open access, book publication contracts, and dissertation, thesis, and capstone project deposit.
