SLU Student Email

Matriculated students are provided with an email account both for university and personal use as long as they are affiliated with CUNY. If you were recently matriculated, please allow 2 to 24 hours for your student email to be created.

Access your CUNY email

        1. Go to https://outlook.office.com
        2. Enter your CUNYLogin username at the Sign in page and click Next
        3. Enter your CUNYLogin credentials at the CUNY Login Page
          1. If this is your first time signing in you will be prompted to setup your Microsoft 365 Multi-Factor Authentication. Here is a quick guide on how to setup your Microsoft 365 MFA.
        4. Follow the prompts to receive and enter your verification code.
        5. You are now signed into your CUNY email account.

Login name and email address
Your CUNY Email username is your CUNY Login username firstname.lastname##@login.cuny.edu where ## is the last 2 digits of your EMPL ID. For example, John.Doe42@login.cuny.edu

Password / password change
If you forgot your CUNY Email password you may go to the CUNY Login page at https://cunyfirst.cuny.edu, click on Forgot Password, and follow the prompts to complete your Password Change. Here is a quick guide on how to change your Password,

Microsoft 365

CUNY SLU Students have access to the Microsoft 365 for Education which includes commonly used apps such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneDrive, Teams, and more. The license remains active until you leave the University, at which point it will be in read-only mode and you will be prompted to purchase a license from Microsoft or stop using Microsoft 365 for Education.

Access Office 365

  1. Go to https://login.microsoftonline.com
  2. Sign in using your SLU email address” with “Enter your CUNYLogin username at the Sign in page and click Next
  3. Enter your CUNYLogin credentials at the CUNY Login Page and click Log in.
  4. Click on Apps at the bottom left corner above your name.
  5. Add fifth bullet point “You can now access your Microsoft 365 Apps.

CUNY Virtual Desktop / Apporto

Remotely access your course software anytime and anywhere on your favorite web browser by logging in with your CUNYfirst account at cuny.apporto.com

Please note that each session is limited to 8 hours to provide maximum availability for all CUNY users. Inactivity for 60 minutes or more will end your session, and any unsaved data will be lost. Please remember to save frequently.

Dropbox

The City University of New York is providing Dropbox and Dropbox Paper to all active CUNY students, faculty and administrative staff.  You can use these tools to store and access files from different devices, share files, and collaborate on content.  The Training Resources section will help you get started.

Use of Dropbox will be subject to CUNY Security and Computer Use policies as well as the data privacy, security and confidentiality guidelines established in the Acceptable Use of University Data in the Cloud Policy.
