Yes. Students can walk in and meet with a consultant if one is available, although we are frequently completely booked. Thus, we highly recommend scheduling an appointment at least two to three days in advance. All of our sessions start on the hour and last 45 minutes, so it is best to come in a little before the hour begins.
You can cancel your appointment on our schedule up to three hours before your scheduled appointment. If you wish to cancel later than this, you can do so by calling 212-642-2014 or emailing WritingCenter@slu.cuny.edu. If you don’t cancel in advance or show up for your appointment, your appointment will be marked as “missed.”
Due to a high demand for appointments, we have instituted the following cancellation policy: If you two of your appointments are marked as “missed” or you have three late cancellations (within three hours of your appointment), you will receive a warning. If, somehow, a third appointment is marked as “missed” or you have another late cancellation, your online access to our schedule will be disabled for 30 days.
