This semester has been a powerful chapter in my journey as a student, union member, and emerging leader. At CUNY SLU, I’ve made meaningful progress toward my Bachelor of Labor Studies major, and I recently learned that I only have 14 credits left before I graduate. This realization has been incredibly motivating and reminds me of how far I’ve come.My experience at SLU has been transformative. It has helped me build confidence, strengthen my voice, and connect my education to real-world impact. I’ve learned that education is not just about earning credits; it’s about discovering your purpose and using it to uplift others.

At the same time, my role as an active union member has deepened my understanding of leadership and collective power. Being selected for a second term with the CUNY SLU Student Union is an honor I carry with pride. It has allowed me to advocate for students, support my peers, and stand up for our shared needs. Through this work, I have truly found my voice.

One of the things I am most passionate about is building a stronger bridge for women in leadership. I believe in creating spaces where women can support, uplift, and collaborate. Leadership is not about standing alone; it’s about building community and empowering others to lead alongside you.

Another meaningful part of this journey has been writing. Seeing my words published in a CUNY newsletter has been an incredible experience. It feels amazing to know that my voice matters, and that others can read, connect with, and be inspired by my thoughts.

I want to invite others in our community to find and share their voice as well. Who are you? What do you have to say? We are listening, and we want to hear your story. Writing is both a gift and a skill—use it with power, purpose, and confidence. Your words matter.

I encourage my fellow SLU students to contribute to this column, to speak from the heart, and to build connection through storytelling. We all have something meaningful to offer, and when we share our experiences, we create a stronger, more supportive community.

I also bring with me a deep sense of spiritual grounding, cultural identity, and an entrepreneurial mindset that continues to guide my journey. I believe in creating space for growth, reflection, and building a lasting foundation for the future. I am always open to connecting, supporting, and sharing what I’ve learned along the way.

CUNY SLU is in my heart and soul, and I will always give back to this community. What I offer is connection, encouragement, and belief in our collective power to grow and lead.

Come as you are. Your voice, your story, and your presence matter. If you’re interested in seeing your words here, just write to communications@slu.cuny.edu and we’ll be in touch!
