AN EDUCATION THAT MEETS THE MOMENT
At the CUNY SLU, our programs prepare students to understand—and shape—the systems that impact working people and communities every day.

Labor Studies examines the world of work, exploring how to strengthen workplaces, empower workers, and advance equity in a rapidly changing economy. Urban Studies takes an interdisciplinary look at cities, focusing on the challenges they face and the collective efforts to create more just, sustainable, and inclusive communities.

Together, these programs prepare students to lead in nonprofits, advocacy organizations, unions, and public institutions. Now is the time to deepen your commitment to workers' rights, social justice, and public service—and to gain the tools to drive meaningful change where you live and work.
At CUNY SLU, we offer the following programs:
  • B.A. in Labor Studies
  • M.A. in Labor Studies
  • B.A. in Urban and Community Studies
  • M.A. in Urban Studies
  • And several certificate options

"Being a student at SLU was the most rewarding academic experience I've had. From analyzing policy, to learning about the socioeconomic history of the U.S. and the inner workings of public administration, what I learned has equipped me to contribute even more to my field."
