Applying for scholarships at SLU just got a whole lot easier. Meet Scholarship Hub – an online portal that’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Step 1. Admissions and FAFSA

Before applying for scholarships, you should be accepted to SLU and complete your FAFSA.

If you have not been accepted to SLU, please contact Admissions@slu.cuny.edu. For FAFSA assistance, contact Financialaid@slu.cuny.edu. To apply for need-based scholarships, you will need a copy of your Electronic Student Aid Report (SAR). To view a sample eSAR, click here.

Step 2. Claim Your Scholarship Hub Account and Login

New students will receive an invitation from the Admissions Office with instructions to claim a Scholarship Hub account.

  1. Navigate to Scholarship Hub
  2. Under ‘Students’ click ‘Login
  3. Click the ‘Claim Account’ button
  4. Enter your Student ID (EMPLID) – this will be your username. Click ‘Request Access’
  5. Set your password and secret security question

If you have already claimed a Scholarship Hub account, simply logon with your credentials (username is your EMPLID and password). If you cannot remember your password, please contact StudentAccounts@slu.cuny.edu

NOTE: Once you accept admission to SLU, all notifications from Scholarship Hub will be redirected to the campus e-mail assigned to you. This cannot be changed. Please contact the SLU Technology Help Desk at (646) 313-8440/ITHelpDesk@slu.cuny.edu if cannot access your SLU3 e-mail.

Step 3. Complete the BASE Application and Apply for Scholarships

BASE is the first step to matching you with opportunities at SLU. You are only required to complete this once each academic year. Remember, other opportunities may appear in your applicant portal once you have submitted the BASE App. Be sure to check those out and apply! Your application is valid for one academic year, which means you only apply once for the fall and spring.

Helpline

The following is a list of helpful hints useful for students when applying for scholarships.

  • Pay attention to the deadlines. Some opportunities require transcripts and/or letters of reference. Allow time to assemble all required information. It is never recommended to wait until the deadline date to complete an application.
  • If asked to write an essay, use accurate grammar, spelling, and punctuation. It might be a good idea to have someone proofread your work.
  • Carefully follow the instructions on the scholarship application and review your responses before submitting.
