The Office of Admissions is responsible for classifying the student’s residency status upon entrance. Thereafter, Registrar will review and update changes to residency. A student is considered a NYS resident if they have maintained domicile in NYS for a period of at least 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the first day of classes for the semester which the residency determination is made. Residence in a dormitory, hotel, or other temporary housing facility does not qualify for in-state residency

STUDENT FEES EXPLAINED

Undergraduate / Graduate Student Activity Fee + Senate Fee Paid by each student to support student clubs, student government, various campus services, and a variety of student activities.
Undergraduate / Graduate Technology Fees Paid by each student to help improve computer services in the colleges. Full-time students pay $125.00 per semester and part-time students pay $62.50 per semester.
Undergraduate / Graduate Consolidated Fee Cover the external processing of financial aid applications, the immunization program, the job location/development program, system-wide tuition and fee collections by the Office of the University Controller, and the administration of various tests such as the skills assessment tests.
Undergraduate / Graduate Material & Laboratory Fees Charged to specific courses that require special materials such as equipment rental charges, transportation, field trip expenses and other non-instructional costs
Graduate Only Maintenance of Matriculation If a graduate student is not registered for any credit-bearing classes that are recognized by their program, they must register for maintenance of matriculation status and pay the required fee (NYS Resident $225; Non-NYS Resident $370), which cannot be waived.

PUNITIVE CHARGES

Late Registration $25 Registration after the official first day of classes will incur a $25 fee.
Change of Program $18 Students are required to pay a fee each time they make certain program changes, on or after the official first day of classes (except for students who only drop courses), based upon the official CUNY calendar. The fee(s) charged will cover one or more program changes made at the same time. Examples of changes incurring a fee: Addition of a course or courses; changing from one course to another course; changing from one section of a course to another section of the same course.

The change of program fee is not applicable to college-initiated changes.

Returned Check $20 Returned checks, paper or electronic result in a $20 Returned Check Fee per occurrence and regardless of reason. The student is no longer be eligible to pay by personal check or eCheck*

Other accepted methods include money order, teller check, credit card (online) or payment plan (online).

 

The student is required to settle their entire bill, including the Returned Check Fee, before the official first day of classes. Accounts in a past-due status must be settled immediately. Bursar holds are assigned in accordance with the College’s assignment schedule. Students opting into a payment plan service while their account is in a past-due status are not exempt from holds.

 

*A Request to Reinstate Check Privileges can be submitted to the Bursar’s Office for future considerations.

Late Payment $15 Students whose payments are not received by the final due date may be charged a $15 fee.
Replacement ID Card $10 To request a new ID Card, the student must obtain the ID Replacement Form. Drop off or mail the completed form to Student Financial Accounts | Bursar. Include the $10 replacement fee, via check or money order, made payable to CUNY SLU. Photo ID will issued within 1-2 weeks.

 

The Bursar will charge the student account and accept payment. The payment receipt and completed ID Replacement Form will be forwarded to Information Technology (IT). IT will generate a new card, contact the student, and arrange for pick-up or mail.
