In collaboration with NYC College of Technology (City Tech),  International Union of Operating Engineers- Local 94), and The Murphy Institute for Worker Education at CUNY SLU, a special program was developed to provide Local 94 members with an opportunity to earn their Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Environmental Control Technology and/or a Bachelor’s of Technology (BTech) degree in Facilities Management through the Department of Environmental Control Technology at City Tech.

Members who have completed Local 94’s Training Program, Energy Conservation, and Indoor Air Quality courses are awarded 19 tuition-free credits toward their degree. The Local 94 Training Fund will provide tuition support for up to 30 additional credits toward the associate degree. Worker Education at CUNY SLU provides pre-admission advisement and application assistance for members who are seeking entry into this program.

Like other workforce development programs across CUNY, these degrees combine a specialized technical education with liberal arts study for workers in rapidly changing industries where advancement requires new skills and knowledge. Students will receive state-of-the-art training as well as earn the credentials necessary for occupational advancement.

To learn more and/or schedule a 1-to-1 pre-admissions advisement session, please contact WorkerEd@slu.cuny.edu
